Retooling for an Aging America: Building the Health Care Workforce

The Committee on the Future Health Care Workforce for Older Americans at The Institute of Medicine has posted an uncorrected copy of a forthcoming book titled Retooling for an Aging America: Building the Health Care Workforce. Among other things the book discusses health status and health care service utilization as well as new care models as the population ages. You can also read the summary of the report.

Survey of Homeless and Previously Homeless Youth in California

California Research Bureau today published a survey titled Voices from the Street: A Survey of Homeless Youth by Their Peers, which discusses many issues faced by homeless youngsters including reasons for leaving home, life on the street, mental health experiences and ways of getting needed help.

Pew Internet Report: Privacy Implications of Fast, Mobile Internet Access

Many Americans are jumping into the fast, mobile, participatory Web without considering all the implications. If nothing really bad has happened to someone, they tend neither to worry about their personal information nor to take steps to limit the amount of information that can be found about them online. This finding dovetails with our previous work related to spyware -- software that covertly tracks a user as they navigate the net. Internet users who said they had not encountered spyware were less likely to view it as a serious threat and more likely to say it's just part of life online.
